The thing about Dad's Weekend without a dad isn't the fact that my dad isn't here, it's the fact that everyone else's dad IS. The students suddenly don't necessarily have to be grown up all the time anymore. The dad's have cars, wallets, hugs, and common sense.
I talked to my Daddy last night. It was very nice. It was almost like we were having a conversation me sitting on the kitchen counter, him leaning against it, late in the evening. Eating graham crackers.
